Book Tour - Guest Post - That Girl Book Review

After serving half of a three-year prison sentence, James is out and ready to try and get his life back on track, which means forgetting about the girl who sent him to prison in the first place - despite the fact he's still in love with her! Katie knows that she can't see James, but that doesn't make it any easier. If she does it could send him straight back to prison, but, she still loves him and is desperate to make things right and tell him how sorry she is for ruining his life. After accidentally bumping in to each other, James and Katie can't stay away from one another and so begin to see each other in secret. After a slight wobble on James's part, when he decides he can't take the risk of going back to prison, Katie decides enough is enough and it really is time to move on and put James behind her. Heartbroken, James decides to try and get his life in order. But due to his conviction it's not as straightforward as he would like, leaving him miserable and despairing at what his life has become. When a job opportunity comes up hundreds of miles away he doesn't hesitate to head south and put his troubles behind him. Can James and Katie forget each other and move on with their lives without one another?

I just could not get enough of this book!
One of the things I love about the way Rachel writes, is that she always writes from a younger teens perspective which is so relatable to me, as the young girls she writes about are around my age group, making it so easy to get myself drawn in to her books!

This book has so many secrets that make you refuse to put the book down until you know the answers! I was desperate to know why James had been sent to prison, who ended up spilling the secret James and Katie held and if they would ever be able to get through the disapproval of their families and live happily ever after...

James and Katie have such history between each other that it's hard not to fall in love with the pair and root for them to get back together, no matter how messed up their situation is. The story between the two of them is so fascinating and I love the way Rachel switches between James and Katie's perspectives throughout each chapter, giving us a glimpse of how they're both feeling and what they're both going through when they're being pulled apart. You can't help fall in love with their beautiful daughter, Hollie, as she is such a bubbly little girl who worships the ground James walks on! Sure, it's not all smooth sailing for James and Katie when James' mother hates Katie with an absolute passion and Katie's parents don't want James being a part of their life for getting their daughter knocked up. With the help of their friends, they sneak about and make up for lost time.

James and Katie eventually come to their senses and try to move on from one another. They both go on multiple dates, all not going too well. James moves away and Katie is back to square one when James had got locked up. By the end of the book, certain people come to terms with the pair being completely in love and want them to have the family they've always dreamt of, some still don't disagree and make their lives miserable. The ending comes with a rather surprising twist that you will only find out if you read! The ending had me up until early hours of the morning, as I couldn't sleep without knowing what happened up to the very last page and I went to sleep feeling all sorts of emotions!

Rachel has really wrote an incredible book, which I believe you all truly need to give a chance! She is a wonderful writer, a lovely person and you will appreciate her just as much as I do! She pulls you into books, literally, making you feel that you are on this journey with the characters and there's no better thing than when a book makes you feel that way! Thank you Rachel for writing a book that I will forever love and thank you Aimee, for allowing me to read and review this book. It's been a fun journey!
